Silver Meteor
by Doug Kwartler
It's clear up the coast as I gaze out the window of a train
And it's 1:25 on the Silver Meteor again
Late in the day and the school yards are empty
I boarded in Jacksonville I'll come back if she'll let me
And it's clear up the coast
As I gaze out the window of a train
Oh Milagrosa mi amore
I come to New York like Los Angeles Before
I see the seven ways that lift you ever higher
But I am the father of your child
I am a sailor by trade like my father was before
But now I'm making my way up the atlantic corridor
Early Monday morning when the ships set out to sail
I can feel you movin' neath the rumble of the rails
And it's clear up the coast
As I gaze out the window of a train
The night has fallen and your smile grows weary on my eyes
Only 7 hours to go and New York is not that far to ride
Late in the day and the school yards are empty
I boarded in Jacksonville I'll come back if she'll let me
And it's clear up the coast
As I gaze out the window of a train
